League & Season Notes
- The Sprouts division will include a feature mix of practices and games. This division is designed with the youngest athletes in mind. It focuses on introducing the basic skills of soccer in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment. Through this program, we aim to instill a love for the game while fostering teamwork and physical fitness from an early age.
- We must be able to field at least 3 teams for a Pre-K Girls and Kindergarten Girls division to be made. If we are unable to fill all those spots, we will automatically merge the registered girls with the coed division. For reference, we haven't had to do this in several years.
- Player will be placed in league division based on school grade of the 2025/2026 school year. Player must not exceed maximum age requirements for each division. Max age set by POSL. The league reserves the right to request a copy of a current Grade Card and Birth Certificate.
- Teams will play a minimum of 7 games which will be distributed throughout the weeks following the start of the season. Sprouts teams will play weekday evenings (Monday to Thursday) and Saturdays. Pre-K and Kindergarten teams play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. 1st/2nd grade through 3rd/4th grade play on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade is scheduled on Mondays and Saturdays. Days are subject to change.
- If we do not have enough 7th & 8th grade participants, we will create a Jr. High division of 5th grade through 8th grade. This has been a successful experience the past 8+ seasons.
Volunteer Parent Coaches:
Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer coach for POSL. We believe in the power of community and the vital role parents play in enriching our league's experience. That's why we invite any parent willing to share their time and enthusiasm, regardless of soccer expertise, to join us as volunteer coaches. We are grateful for your willingness to help develop youth athletes through teamwork, skill-building, and positive mentorship.
- For the Sprouts division, a dedicated training session will equip all volunteer coaches with the knowledge of basic soccer rules and drills to ensure a rewarding experience for both coaches and players.
How to Volunteer
- To volunteer, please sign up via the coaches' section on the participant registration.
- Coaching assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis, with consideration given to past coaching experience, availability, and the needs of the league.
- Please note: Not all volunteers are guaranteed a coaching spot, as we aim to maintain appropriate team sizes and ratios.
